Responsive strategies for life’s complexities.

We are a collective of Social Workers in Bundaberg dedicated to your whole story. We help you navigate the tough stuff by focusing on "what has happened to you"—not "what is wrong with you"—with practical, trauma-informed support.

Our Social Work Approach

The Regather difference.

At Regather, we understand that seeking support takes courage. Whether you're facing personal challenges, supporting someone you care about, or you're a professional seeking quality services for your clients, we're here to help.

Our social work approach means:

  • We see you as a whole person, not just your challenges
  • We focus on "what's happened to you" rather than "what's wrong with you"
  • We build on your existing strengths and resources
  • We consider your family, community, and cultural context
  • We work collaboratively – you're the expert in your own life

We believe everyone deserves support that respects their unique journey, values their experiences, and helps them move forward at their own pace.

What is Social Work?

Growing with our comminity

Regather started with a vision to provide genuine, down-to-earth therapeutic support. Over time, the need for a safe, non-judgmental space in our community grew, and so did we.

We have recently moved into our own dedicated office space in Bundaberg and expanded our team. This growth allows us to offer a wider range of supports, including specialised areas like Play & Art Therapy , support for neurodivergency (Autism/ADHD) , and complex trauma support. We work collaboratively because we know that working in isolation isn’t effective or ethical practice.

Meet the Regather team

Our team is made up of qualified practitioners who share a commitment to being open, honest, and transparent. We pride ourselves on accepting difference and listening attentively to our clients and their families.

We are experienced in navigating complex systems like the NDIS, My Aged Care, and WorkCover, and we are here to advocate for you.

Melissa Clarke

Mel has worked with people from all walks of life throughout Brisbane and Bundaberg for over 20 years. She has a deep understanding of the complexities that life can throw our way, from her early days working alongside vulnerable young people to more recent work in out-of-home care, mental health recovery, domestic and family violence, and intensive family support spaces.

Mel’s practice is reflective of human rights and trauma-informed principles, focusing on applying strengths-based and solution-focused strategies to achieve sustainable goals.

She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Human Services and has experience leading several teams in multiple organisational settings. Mel is passionate about working with teams to uphold quality ethical practice and appreciates the benefits of investing in consistent reflective professional supervision to sustain teams’ performance, promote individual self-care, growth, and support the impacts of vicarious trauma.

Mel loves most to see people grow, enact their human rights, and work towards being their best selves. She is constantly inspired by the resilience of human beings and is motivated by a desire to see each person she works with progress on their journey.
